Google Launches Wedding Planning Portal

Lately your to-do list is as long as your gown’s cathedral-length train. To help brides and grooms simplify the process, the tech titans have launched Google Weddings, a free online destination for everything from creating your wedding website to budgeting your big day.

Enlisting the expertise of wedding-planning guru Michelle Rago, Google unveils exclusive templates for creating wedding websites, engagement announcements, save-the-dates, budgets and detailed to-do lists. For websites and announcements, easily customizable templates feature a variety of design themes to complement your style (the Photoshop-shy can even use Picnik’s simple photo editing tools). For keeping track of the endless details and staying on budget, begin with a budget page followed by different sheets to track essentials like the guest list, seating chart and address book. Use your smartphone to update lists before you even leave the florist, and make sure to “share” all pertinent documents to┬ákeep the fiance, friends and family in the loop.

My big, fat, geek wedding.
